Why didn’t we go organic?Updated 3 hours ago

An organic cosmetic is one that is required to contain 95 % ingredients of natural origin, the majority of which must be sourced from organic farming. The criteria may vary depending on the organic certification scheme (COSMOS, ECO CERT, NATURE & PROGÈS, BDIH, etc.).

Together with the Martine Skin team, we decided to formulate our products according to our own standards rather than specifically those of organic certification. Our ‘blacklist’ of ingredients and our natural content percentages are, however, very similar.

Organic does not necessarily mean gentler on the skin, as certain ingredients – such as alcohol derived from distillation processes and essential oils – are permitted in organic products and can be problematic for sensitive and reactive skin. 🌱
